The Emergency Lighting of the Future Is Here

Emergency lighting is taking a bold step into the future – we’re launching an innovative, digital emergency lighting fixture that will make evacuation safety work both easier and more flexible. The new fixture, called Dynamic, features an LED matrix display that can show a selected pictogram during normal operation, but switch to another when it receives a control signal, for example from a fire alarm.

In its basic configuration, Dynamic comes preprogrammed with 16 different pictograms, making it easy to adapt to various scenarios and needs. Using internal switches, the desired direction or symbol can be selected, making installation extremely convenient since one single fixture covers all directional variations within a building. The solution is also more sustainable, as no unused pictogram signs need to be discarded — something that is often the case with traditional fixtures. Dynamic can also be connected to other systems, such as a fire alarm, via an external control input to manage its display accordingly.

Real-Time Safety – Blocks Unsafe Escape Routes

In the event of a fire or other emergency, Dynamic can immediately display a cross symbol, thereby blocking escape routes that should not be used. This gives both staff and visitors clear guidance, reducing the risk of anyone taking the wrong path during an emergency. The cross symbol can also be used during a lockdown situation — for example, in a school — to clearly indicate that certain doors or exits should not be used, explains Anders Adelin, our Product Manager for Emergency Lighting and Lighting.

Flexible Installation Options

Dynamic is available in both white and black housings and can be mounted directly on walls or ceilings, suspended, or flag-mounted using a bracket. Cable entries are positioned for quick installation, and the fixture is available both with and without battery backup. The battery version also includes an AutoTest (AT) function, providing extra reliability as the fixture automatically monitors its own functionality. The viewing distance for Dynamic is 25 meters.
